Professional Licensure Disclosure Statement: Nova Southeastern University, College of Optometry Doctor of Optometry program is accredited by the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education. This Disclosure is strictly limited to NSU’s determination of whether the Program, if successfully completed, would be sufficient to meet the educational licensure requirements in a State, as defined as 34 C.F.R. § 600.2. NSU cannot provide verification of an individual’s ability to meet licensure requirements unrelated to its educational programming.

This Disclosure does not provide any guarantee that any particular State licensure entity will approve or deny your application. Furthermore, this Disclosure does not account for changes in state law or regulation that may affect your application for licensure and occur after this disclosure has been made. Enrolled students and prospective students are strongly encouraged to contact their State’s licensure entity to review all licensure or certification requirements imposed by their State(s) of choice.  

In accordance with 34 C.F.R. § 668.43, NSU has determined the Doctor of Optometry program meets the educational licensure requirements for all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the US protectorates, as defined in 34 C.F.R. § 600.2.

It is strongly encouraged that students, applicants, and prospective students determine any additional requirements for licensure in the State in which they seek to be licensed.
