Zoeanne Schinas, O.D., received a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida International University in 1999, and a Doctor of Optometry degree with honors from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in 2004. She continued on at Nova Southeastern University to complete a one-year residency program in Primary Care, with emphasis in Cornea and Contact Lens.
Following her residency, Dr. Schinas joined the faculty at Nova Southeastern University where she currently holds the rank of Assistant Professor. Her teaching responsibilities at the NSU’s College of Optometry include lab coordinator and instructor for Contact Lens I and II labs and co-instructor for the Contact Lens I didactic course. As an attending optometric physician at The Eye Care Institute, Dr. Schinas is a residency supervisor and precepts third and fourth year student interns in both the Cornea and Contact Lens and Primary care services.
Dr. Schinas is currently active in contact lens related clinical research and has authored numerous abstracts in the area of ocular disease and its management, in addition to having participated in Optometric continuing education lectures
