Continuing Education

Optometrists: Your CE credits are reported to CE Broker (FL) and the Association of Regulatory Boards of Optometry (ARBO). You will need to provide your Florida Board of Optometry license number as well as your OE Tracker number when registering for any of the College's onsite CE programs.

Refund Policy: All events contain a refund policy and applicable date. In the event a credit is issued in lieu of a refund, it will be honored for any CE event held at a Nova facility within 12 months from the date of issuance.

Below you will find a list of COPE approved courses.  While we don’t report results to your respective states we do report results monthly to COPE.  Each lecture is presented by an NSU faculty.  Due to internal restrictions NSU has for grading, Dr. Melanie Crandall is shown within the registration process as the course instructor.  You will only need to register as a NSU student one time and once completed, you can proceed to select courses that meet your needs.  Upon completion of the course and exam you will be given the opportunity to print a certificate.

RETURNING USERS 2013

Returning users can use their NUS ID and WebStar credentials to log into courses.

FIRST TIME USERS
  1. Select register after making your course selection.
  2. Add a course to your schedule builder by placing your cursor over the course.  Two icons will display.  Select the + icon and the course is added to the Schedule Builder.  It will then prompt you to select a start date.  Today’s date or any future date will work for this field.
  3. Two buttons will display on the bottom of your screen.  Select “register” to continue.
  4. Select “New Student” “Create New Account” and you will be prompted to input your name, address, etc.  Please note only those items with an asterisk are required.  Your social security number is not a required field.
  5. Upon completing this screen you will see a window that says welcome.  This window gives you your Login ID and Password.  Write this information done for future reference and proceed to check-out and payment information.

Upon completion of payment of your course you must execute the following steps to complete your student registration process (retrieval of your Shark ID which allows you to log into the Blackboard online learning system).   This will only need to be done once and not every time that you select a course.  You will then be able to take your course(s).

  1. Your credentials will need to be confirmed prior to logging into your first course.  Click on this link “Retrieve Your SharkLink ID
  2. Select option #2 to input your N# and your date of birth (N# was received prior to completing payment for the course)
  3. Once you’ve accepted NSU policies your identity is confirmed and you are ready to access your course(s).
  4. In a new web browser enter the URL “mako.nova.edu” which takes you to Blackboard where you will be prompted  to input your Sharklink credentials."
  5. Upon successfully logging in you will be brought to the main “My Institution tab which has the “MY Course Block”.   Select the course title which is the link that takes you directly into the course.
