The College of Optometry is fully accredited by the American Optometric Association's Accreditation Council on Optometric Education (AOA-ACOE). The AOA-ACOE (243 N. Lindbergh Boulevard, St Louis, MO 63141 Telephone: 1-800-365-2219) is the accrediting body for the professional degree and residency programs in schools and colleges of optometry in the United States. The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, GA 30033 Telephone: 1-404-679-4500) is the recognized regional accrediting body in the eleven U.S. Southern states (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee,Texas and Virginia) and accredits all of Nova Southeastern University's degree programs, including the Graduate Certificate in CVR and MSCVR. Over 44 full-time faculty participate in teaching at the College. Areas of excellence to support the student’s research interests include cornea & contact lenses, electrophysiology, developmental/pediatric optometry, low vision, geriatrics, optics, ocular motility, vision screening, and public health. The NSU Office of Information Technologies works closely with the College of Optometry to provide technical support for the program as well as resources for database research and teaching.
