Overview
Please join us for an information-filled eight hours (all TQ) of continuing education in a dynamic, interactive atmosphere.
Dr. Kimberly Reed, an NSU faculty member for more than 18 years, brings her unique expertise in both ocular pharmacology and nutrition in a two-hour course entitled "Ocular Disease Management: Pharmaceutical and Nutriceutical Update." This is a rapid-fire review of the important literature regarding ocular and systemic medications and food and nutrition, as it pertains to ocular management.
Dr. Michael Chaglasian, a veteran faculty member from the Illinois College of Optometry and the Chief of Staff of the Illinois Eye Institute, is a world-renown expert in glaucoma. His two-hour course called "Glaucoma: Clinical Pearls for Challenging Cases" covers optic nerve evaluation, nerve fiber analysis, IOP measurement, pachymetry and ocular perfusion pressure in the context of case studies.
Drs. Reed and Chaglasian will team up to teach two more courses. The first is called "IOP-dependent and Independent Mechanisms in Glaucoma: What Is the Science?" This unique course will review what we know about glaucoma, the risk factors, natural progression, and management. Landmark studies will be reviewed, and new theories examined. The second course is presented in a Grand Rounds format as "Posterior Segment and Neuro-Optometry Grand Rounds." Each presenter will share favorite cases along with management pearls.
The Nova Southeastern Campus in Orlando is adjacent to the Millennium Mall. You will see it on the frontage road to I-4. It is very close to Universal Studios as well. For those of you that would like to stay overnight we have arranged a group rate of $99 nightly for the Hyatt Place located at 5895 Caravan Court, Orlando, Florida 32810.
