Featured speakers include Dr. Joseph Sowka on glaucoma, and Drs. Carlo Pelino and Joseph Pizzimenti bringing their popular Review of Systems column to Asheville. The program will also include courses on Medical Error prevention and practice management. Rebecca Wartman, OD will close out the conference with Value Based Reimbursement. A sneak preview of her lecture "Penalties to the left of me and penalties to the right of me...what is an OD to do....Meaningful Use, PQRS, Value Based Modifiers, ACO's and now private insurers are joining in the "fun". Learn how all of this fits into your practice and how to survive without losing 9-11% of all you Medicare income and who knows what amount on the private side."

Cancellation/Refund Policy

If you are unable to attend the program, please notify us by email as soon as possible. We will refund your registration fee based upon the following schedule:

  • 100% refund if notified by July 1, 2016
  • No refunds after July 1, 2016

There will be no refund if you do not attend the program or do not notify us in advance. As a reminder, compliance with Board guidelines requires punctual attendance for CE credit. Those persons who do not arrive on time for a course will not receive credit. The Florida Board of Optometry states in Chapter 64B13-5.001 (1): "Credit will be allowed on the basis of an hour for hour. To receive one hour credit, a licensed practitioner must attend not less than 50 minutes."

Grove Park Inn is located at 290 Macon Avenue, Asheville, NC 28804.  We have secured a rate of $269 nightly for a standard room and upgrades begin at $289 nightly however the $25 resort fee is waived for our conference attendees.  Parking is $25 daily.   You are responsible for making your own hotel reservations.   Ask for the Nova group rate when calling 828- 252-2711 or 800-438-5800.  Or you can go on-line at www.groveparkinn.com and follow the “Reserve Online” link. It will prompt you for the code “NOVA”to identify you as an attendee of the conference.

As of June 1st the Nova block and the hotel are sold out, however, you can call and see if there an opening based on cancellations.  Alternatives that have been recommended are Renaissance Hotel in downtown Asheville, only 5 minutes away.
